Reserves Go Down At Wrexham
The Seasiders reserve team went down 3-1 on Monday night against Wrexham at Buckley Town.
The hosts who fielded a much more experienced side raced into a 3-0 lead before the break prompting Steve Thompson to read his men the riot act during the interval and the Seasiders first team coach was pleased with the sides second half display, "It was always going to be difficult with so many trialists and youth team players in the side," said Thompson "but we were not good enough first half and I let the lads know that at the break. Second half we battled and dominated the game wasting several great chances, the 3-1 score probably flatters Wrexham a little. Matty Kay who was skipper had another good game as did first year scholar Dominic Morrella, Pato and Craig Reid worked hard up front, but first half they didn't see much of the ball."
Former Coventry striker Craig Reid netted Pool's consolation goal.
The reserves are next in action a week on Wednesday when they play host to Accrington Stanley at Fleetwood Town, kick off 7pm
