Blackpool winger Wes Hoolahan could be set for a bright future on the international stage after new Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni named him in his 28-man squad.

Hoolahan was originally named in the initial 40-man party earlier last month but has now made the cut for the friendly internationals with Columbia and Serbia later this month.

Wes will now join up with the rest of his international colleagues on Thursday 15^th May in preparation for a training camp in Portugal. The games against Serbia and Columbia will take place on the 24^th and 29^th May respectively.
