Reggie Wants More Points
SHAUN Barker is looking for the Seasiders to 'get a few more points as soon as possible' in the aim of securing Championship safety.
Another point at Crystal Palace on Saturday aided the teams' cause, but with the likes of Leicester City and Coventry City winning at the weekend, the right-back admits the team cannot afford to rest on their laurels.
He said: "I think at the start of the season you'd get to a tally where you think you're pretty much going to be safe.
"People used to say about 50 points but I think maybe a little bit more is going to be needed this year to stay up because obviously results are going against us and a few teams are picking up towards the end of the season.
"We've got to the 50 and, fingers crossed; we can get a few more as soon as possible," he added.
The result at Selhurst Park on Saturday made it back-to-back draws away to Stoke and Palace but Reggie feels it could have easily been more.
"The best thing to come out of these games is the willingness to work and that's rubbing off and I think the chances we're creating as well is unbelievable.
"The fact that we haven't actually won the games where we've gone to places like Palace and Stoke is quite surprising with the performances that we've had.
"But you keep having to get points on the table and that's the aim of the game and, fingers crossed, we get a few more points as soon as possible."
