NEW signing Grant Holt is hoping to make the most of his 'opportunity' at Blackpool following his loan move from Nottingham Forest.

The striker joined Forest in January 2006 from Rochdale for a fee of £300,000. Holt was top scorer for the club last season and he now hopes to rediscover his form at Bloomfield Road for the rest of the campaign.

Despite currently plying his trade in League One, the striker has no doubts that he can make the step up into the Championship having previously played for Sheffield Wednesday.

"It's up a league than what I'm used to but obviously I played here before when I was at Sheffield Wednesday and I'm just looking forward to the opportunity of playing at this level and trying to show what I can do," Holt said.

"I just want to try and get the opportunity, and I have a manager who has obviously decided to bring us in and that shows that he's got a bit of faith in us. I haven't got that at Forest at the minute so hopefully, I'll just come in and reward the opportunity he has given us really.

"I've been brought in for what obviously the manager thinks I can give the team differently.

"I know he's got a lot of forwards here and they're good players, I've seen them play before, but obviously he thinks I can bring something different and obviously if it helps Blackpool then that's great and if it helps myself that's even better.

"It's great for me location-wise and it's a club that I think is on the up," he added.
