SIMON Grayson has revealed his delight at capturing striker Grant Holt on loan from Nottingham Forest.

The manager has moved quickly to strengthen his attacking options ahead of some big games from now until the end of the season and believes that Holt fits the bill perfectly.

Holt is yet another player that the manager has courted for quite a while and when the opportunity arose to bring him to the club, it wasn't one he was going to turn down.

"I just felt it was an opportunity when he came available - we've enquired about him over the last year or so as well - and just decided it was the right time to try and bring another body in," Grayson said.

"I think we need as many people in as we can from now until the end of the season and make sure that we're covered when the window shuts next Thursday.

"I'm delighted to have him here. He's desperate to come, he wants to prove himself and I think he'll fit in well into our squad.

"He's a hungry player, he wants to impress and learn and I think it will be a good acquisition for us," he added.
