Flynn: No Fear Ahead Of Stoke Trip
Michael Flynn believes Stoke City are the best team Pool have faced in the Championship this season but says that the Seasiders will have no fear going to the Britannia Stadium this weekend.
Stoke currently sit top of the division with seven games left to play, level on points with Bristol City. The Potters are just one of three sides to have taken three points from Bloomfield Road this season, and Flynny was impressed by them.
"I think they are the best team we have played in the league and I think they'll go up to be fair," he said.
Some teams may not fancy taking on Stoke at the Britannia but the midfielder believes the Seasiders will show no fear.
"It'll be a tough task but we don't go fearing anyone," he revealed. "We go there and we try and play our game, and hopefully, it'll be enough on Saturday."
After the draw with Preston last Saturday, Pool currently find themselves on 48 points for the campaign and Flynn feels another three points may just ensure survival but insists that isn't a concern for the team.
"I think we need one win or three points, any which way it comes," he said. "To be fair I don't think anyone is really thinking of that, okay it's a tough period now, we've got Stoke away, Crystal Palace away but we haven't feared anyone all year and we're not going to start doing it now."
Given the fight currently on at the bottom of the table, a side could well go down on a high number of points, and Flynn knows all about that from past experience.
"It's actually happened to me - 51 points when I was at Gillingham - we got relegated by one goal," he said.
Despite that, Flynn feels there is no chance that something similar could happen to the Seasiders: "I can't see that happening.
"I think we've got enough points for this stage of the season right now and I'm sure we're going to pick up a few more wins along the way," he added.
