Blackpool stretched their unbeaten home run to fifteen games after a David Fox equaliser grabbed Pool a point against Palace.
They say Blackpool can be a good place for a party but at Bloomfield Road The Seasiders were in no mood to celebrate Neil Warnock's arrival as they came back from 1-0 down to finish the game at 1-1.
Simon Grayson was dealt a blow before kick-off when Andy Morrell failed a late fitness test on a back injury. This coupled with the fact that Ben Burgess had failed to recover from an ankle injury meant that Larry was restricted to just the two front players in Keigan Parker and Scott Vernon.
In what was Neil Warnock's first game in charge of The Eagles, it was Palace who started with the ascendancy with Dougie Freedman hitting the ball over the bar following a Tom Soares flick on inside the first minute.
The game continued with Palace looking to get an early goal and it was defender Leon Cort who was causing the problems in the box. The big centre-back firstly headed the ball over from the corner before later causing a menace in the box moments later with his half volleyed effort deflecting ever so close to goal off Kaspars Gorkss.
Pool were forced to try and utilise Keigan Parker on the counter attack with the Scotsman chasing the ball down field at every occasion. Yet it was Palace again, who this time probably should have opened the scoring, with David Martin looping over a delightful ball that somehow James Scowcroft couldn't keep down from the header.
The Seasiders first real chance of the game cam from a Stephen Crainey free-kick that rebounded off the Palace wall. The ball was picked up by David Fox who drilled the ball across goal only for Shaun Barker to head the ball over.
The chance seemed to bring an end to The Palace dominance as Pool started to get to grips with the game, as Scott Vernon fired straight at the keeper from the edge of the area.
The Palace response came from a corner that Scowcroft again diverted wide from the head. David Fox then had a go from distance for Pool but his effort went wide of the left hand post.
It meant at half-time the score stood at BLACKPOOL 0 CRYSTAL PALACE 0.
Pool started the second half much brighter, although it was Palace winger David Martin inside the first thirty seconds of the restart who came close with a rasping effort.
The Seasiders response was almost instantaneous as Keith Southern let fly only to see his effort go just wide of the diving Julian Speroni.
Then the best chance of the match for Pool fell to Shaun Barker. A testing ball from Wes Hoolahan found Barker five yards from goal but a slight deflection pushed the ball on to the bar and over.
Just as Pool looked to be creating some room, it was The Eagles who opened the scoring. A great ball across the box from Danny Butterfield met the head of James Scowcroft for the big man to knock the ball down back across the box for TOM SOARES to slot the ball home (58) making it BLACKPOOL 0 PALACE 1.
Simon Grayson then introduced Andy Welsh after Gary Taylor-Fletcher failed to shake off the effects of an earlier heavy challenge to the ankle.
The problem was for Palace was that Pool have a never say die spirit that has seen them unbeaten at home since the end of February and the side weren't going to let that go easily.
Following a foul on Keigan Parker, Stephen Crainey stepped up to strike the ball. The ball broke through the wall for DAVID FOX to pick up and drill the ball into the back of the net (67) for his first goal of the season and a deserved equaliser. BLACKPOOL 1 CRYSTAL PALACE 1.
With the game finely balanced Larry brought on Michael Flynn for the goal scorer David Fox. Then somehow Crystal Palace survived following an inswinging ball that had Julian Speroni despairing the ball was cleared only for Andy Welsh to smash the ball in what looked to be an odds on goal but miraculously Palace kept the ball out.
The Eagles were later reduced to ten men after Tom Soares was shown the red card for an alleged stamp on Andy Welsh following the awarding of a free-kick.
Pool looked to make the extra man count as Wes Hoolahan struck the ball just wide of the left hand post but in the end it was another Bloomfield point.
