The Seasiders rounded off an emotional week with a 3-1 victory over Scunthorpe, who, following Bristol City's defeat at Millwall were crowned as Cahmpions.
Goals from Claus Jorgensen, Keigan Parker and Shaun Barker helped the ten-man Seasiders to their second win over the table toppers. Billy Sharp pulled a goal back for the visitors to make it 2-1 soon after Chris Brandon's sending-off but they struggled to create chances against the slick Pool outfit.
Sharp who was at the centre of several battles first half with Ian Evatt has gone down in Scunthorpe's history books, his goal broke the record for the most goals in a season for the Humberside club.
Pool went into the game with an unchanged starting eleven, the only change came on the bench, where fit again Scott Vernon replaced the unfortunate Danny Coid.

On 20 minutes the visitors thought they had doubled their lead when Parker got on the end of a Hoolahan cross from the right to fire past Murphy at his far post. Unfortunately, referee Jonathan Moss ruled the Scottish forward be offside, this was to be the first of many strange decisions for the officials.
Pool were in the ascendancy and beating their opponents to every loose ball, and they were made to pay when the Seasiders excellent attacking play paid off, with the home team making it two on 26 minutes. Sharp flashed another effort in on goal from range on 34 minutes but Hart was well equal to it for his first real save of the afternoon. Then, Andy Butler forced the 'stopper to get down low after he connected with a Baraclough free kick on the left-hand side of the penalty area.
The visitors were given a massive boost on 38 minutes when Pool were reduced to ten men. Brandon, on loan from Chesterfield was dismissed on 38 minutes for a push on Jermaine Beckford..
Shortly after the visitors soon pulled a goal back, as Sharp volleyed past Hart from 12 yards for his history-making 32nd goal of the season.
Scunthorpe were back in the game and almost levelled two minutes after the goal when Baraclough's drive from distance was tipped over the crossbar by Hart. It was the last chance before the interval, with the Iron going in a goal down.
On loan Jermanine Beckford sent out a warning when he had the first chance of the second period inside its opening minute when his drive from the left went wide of Hart's left-hand post. But that was the best they could muster before Simon Grayson's men stepped up another gear.
The ten-men regained the spring in the step that brought their early pressure and notched a third on 55 minutes through Barker. He connected with Hoolahan's corner from the right to bullet a header past Murphy from 12 yards.
They came close again moments later when Keith Southern played Parker through, the lively forward turned his man on the edge of the penalty area before curling in a shot that Murphy was more than equal to.
