The visitors began proceedings on a blustery chilly February evening and it was the men in Tangerine who adapted the better to the conditions, a teasing cross from the right forced Phil Senior to punch clear on five minutes, whilst Rory Prendergast's teasing free kick on ten minutes saw Peter Clarke head back across the goal, but the visitors defence cleared the danger. Phil Senior was called upon on 13 minutes to save following neat work by the lively Matthew Blinkhorn.
Blinkhorn saw a long range shot whistle just wide on the quarter hour after a great lay off by John Murphy.
Huddersfield's first attempt on goal came on 28 minutes when David Graham fired just wide following a great ball from Taylor-Fletcher.
The Seasiders were denied an opener by Martin McIntosh's goal line clearance on 34 minutes, a great move saw Prendergast cross to the far post to Morris who pulled back to Marcus Bean, Bean's snap shot looked to be on its way in until McIntosh stuck out a toe to clear the danger.
Referee Trevor Parkes turned the game on it's head three minutes before the break after he sent Jason Wilcox off for an alleged professional foul on David Graham, the decision was controversial to say the least especially when you consider the state of the playing surface. CHRIS BRANDON stepped up to take the resulting penalty and calmly dispatched the spot kick with consummate ease.

In the opening couple of minutes of the second half Mr Parkes ensured he wasn't on Simon Grayson's Christmas card list when he booked Matthew Blinkhorn for a foul on Mirfin.
Pool were indebted to a brilliant save by Lee Jones on 50 minutes, the big Welshman did ever so well to block at the feet of the visitors experienced striker Andy Booth.
Pool made their first change of the evening when Keith Lasley was handed his home debut in place of Danny Warrender.
Keith Southern entered the referee's notebook on 62 minutes following a late challenge on Nathan Clarke.

Andy Booth fired over after a cheeky back heel from substitute Pawel Abbott.
Pool squandered a glorious chance of an equaliser in stoppage time when Njazi Kuqi fired tamely at the keeper.
